You Can Appeal the Decision
Video Transcribed: I was denied unemployment, can I appeal the order? I’m Oklahoma employment law attorney Colby Addison. And we’re talking about that issue today.
If you’ve been denied unemployment benefits after you’ve filed for them, and you feel like you were wrongfully denied such, you can appeal the decision. However, you only have 10 days from the date on the order that you receive in the mail.
So it’s highly important that you act very promptly, as soon as you get it so that we can get it to an attorney such as myself and file for the appeal. Once the appeal has been filed, you’ll receive a hearing date and it’s something you can either represent yourself or have an attorney represents you.
I highly recommend having an attorney represent you in it because it is somewhat of a mini-trial. If you feel like you need assistance appealing your unemployment decision, please give the Oklahoma Workers Rights attorney a message at oklahomaworkersrights.com.
